FULBRIGHT - HAYS SUMMER SEMINARS ABROAD

General Information:
The Fulbright -Hays Seminars Abroad Program provides opportunities for educators and administrators with the responsibilities for curriculum development in fields related to humanities, languages, social sciences and area studies.

Purpose:
The purpose of this program is to improve knowledge and understanding of the cultures and peoples of non-Western European countries.

The seminars were created under the Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange (Fulbright-Hays) Act of 1961. The J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (FSB) has the overall responsibility for managing the Fulbright Program worldwide, including these seminars.

Programs:
Topics and host countries of the seminars vary from year to year. Seminars are designed to provide a broad and introductory cultural orientation to particular country (ies). The program is geared towards those educators with little or no experience in the host country (ies) that demonstrates the need to develop and enhance their curriculum through short-term study and travel abroad.
