‘Educational and cultural exchanges cannot be made possible without transportation’, said Apivat Hanvong, one of the Fulbright grantees of 2005 when the group met with Khun Eric Wilson, General Manager of the United Airlines- Thailand and Indochina.
On June 16, 2005, we, Master’s degree grantees under the National Open Competition (OC) Program of Fulbright, had a chance to meet the representatives of United Airlines at the UA office at Sindhorn Building. We were warmly welcome by Mr. Eric Wilson along with his staff members who gave us valuable advice and shared their experience in the US with us.
We were particularly impressed with Mr. Eric’s strong intention to continue supporting Thailand-US Educational Foundation’s activities based on his belief that education is a key to success. As he is also on the TUSEF’s Board of Directors, we believe our Fulbright Program is in a very good hand.
United Airlines has been contributing a one-way airticket for Master’s degree grantees under OC since 1987. This year, it has provided 7 seats to OC students and one additional ticket for a scholar. It has indeed played a crucial role in paving our paths to acquire challenging study and cross-cultural experiences.
Therefore, thank you very much for flying us to the United States. We are very grateful to the United Airlines as well as to Khun Eric and his team for their continuous and well-intentioned support.
