An applicant
must :
1) be a Thai citizen in good health*
2) Be a university staff member at a tertiary level
institution who is undertaking graduate work at
the Ph.D. level in a university;
3) Have completed two years of coursework towards
the degree;
4) Be recommended by his/ her employer for consideration;
5) Demonstrate strong academic performance at the
graduate level;
6) Have the concurrence of the University Ph.D.
program in which he/she is enrolled ;
7) Have a paper-based TOEFL score of 525 or above**
( or at least 195 from a computer-based TOEFL
test ); and
8) Obtain written confirmation from a U.S. professor/scientist
at the host institution whom his/her research will
be supervised.
*
Individuals holding U.S. immigrant visas or permanent
U.S. resident cards (green cards), or dual (Thai
and U.S.) citizenships are not eligible.
