Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program (FLTA)

Teach. Learn. Inspire.

The Fulbright FLTA program has been a transformative experience that expanded my worldview, deepened my teaching skills, and strengthened my intercultural competence. Living and working in a diverse academic environment pushed me to grow both personally and professionally. I built lasting friendships with people from around the world, developed confidence in using English across contexts, and gained new perspectives on education, language, and culture. Fulbright empowered me to see myself as a global educator and inspired me to bring inclusive, student-centered, and culturally responsive practices back to my classroom in Thailand. It has truly shaped my path forward.

ABOUT FLTA

The Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program is a life-changing opportunity for emerging educators to share their language and culture at U.S. universities while immersing themselves in American life.

For one academic year, FLTAs bring fresh perspectives and authentic voices into classrooms, inspiring students to see the world through new eyes. Beyond teaching, they engage in campus life, join communities, and grow both personally and professionally.

By the end of their journey, FLTAs return home as confident educators, skilled communicators, and cultural ambassadors, ready to foster greater understanding and build lasting global connections.
