environmental and/or energy policy

(including water management); education; emerging technologies; cultural heritage preservation; economics; public health

and infectious disease;

food security.

PROSPECTIVE RESEARCHERS

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals at the time of application (permanent residents are not eligible).

A conferred bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required before the start of the grant period; applicants completing their degree prior to the grant start date are eligible to apply.

Applicants must meet the language requirements of the selected award and demonstrate the ability to carry out the proposed project and adapt to the host country. In the creative and performing arts, four years of professional training or experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree. Applicants may hold a J.D. degree.

 

Grants do not support clinical training, patient care, or activities requiring a medical or nursing license. Medical doctors may pursue academic study or independent research only; those seeking hospital- or clinic-based research after completing formal postgraduate training should apply to the Fulbright

U.S. Scholar Program.
