2027-2028 Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA)

The Thailand – United States Educational Foundation (TUSEF), is pleased to open applications for the 2027-2028 Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program.

The Fulbright FLTA is a nine-month, non-degree initiative designed for early-career English teachers. Participants gain the opportunity to sharpen their teaching abilities, improve their English proficiency, and deepen their understanding of U.S. society and culture. At the same time, they serve as teaching assistants for their native language (Thai), helping to enhance foreign language education at American colleges and universities.

FLTA participants typically support up to 20 hours of language instruction per week and must enroll in a minimum of two courses each semester, including at least one related to U.S. Studies. These courses can be taken for credit or on an audit basis. Additionally, participants are expected to organize and lead cultural activities, either in person or online, such as events, language clubs, and conversation tables.

The tentative grant period for the 2027 FLTA cohort runs from August 2027 to May 2028. Applicants should download the official program announcement and detailed instructions via the provided links. All applications must be submitted online by Monday, June 8, 2026, at 23:59 (Thailand local time). Submissions are accepted exclusively through the online system—no printed copies are required to be mailed to the office.
